Description

First released in Aug. 2002, this full collection of 12 mp3s (Aries through Pisces Ascendant charts) comes with an Introductory PDF (22 pp.) and a 2nd section with a collection of all 62 birth charts (62 pp.). Total PDF contents: 84 pp. Birth charts are given in both North and South Indian formats, with birth data & cross reference to data updates, list of planetary positions, birth chart, Navamsha chart, Samudaya Ashtakavarga chart, and Vimshottari Dashas . Each audio file runs 92 min. The Full collection totals 18.5 hours and qualifies for at least 20 credits in most Vedic astrology accreditation programs in the U.S. and elsewhere. Please check the Introductory PDF for all updates to Aug. 2015.

Each audio file begins with a short general introduction to the Ascendant chart in question (one per audio file: Aries, then Taurus, etc.), followed by discussion of four to six individual charts. With a total of 62 biographies and charts, most are discussed in some depth, with the use of rich biographical detail to confirm and amplify the Vedic astrological markers. Chart examples were selected to illustrate a wide variety of lives and life situations enabling the student to better learn the 12 Ascendant charts. We encourage the student to listen to and study the audio files in sequential order, as details are developed in a cumulative fashion, with frequent references to charts discussed on previous audio files – comparing and contrasting them for the student’s benefit. In the process, Hathaway includes various facets of Nadi astrology, a profound branch of Vedic astrology that uses nakshatras and nakshatra lords to provide some incisive and lesser-known predictive techniques.

We  strongly encourage acquiring Edith’s book In Search of Destiny (2012), which serves as an excellent companion guide to the Audio course, though it covers Ascendant charts Aries through Libra only, and 31 charts.  (When it is published, Volume two will cover the rest.)  The 2012 book gives the benefit of in-depth research, a full glossary of Sanskrit and astrological terms, as well as additional chapters introducing the reader to Vedic astrology and philosophy, also mundane astrology, covering 1000 years of history and culture through the Jupiter-Saturn cycles.
