Description

This lecture was given on Monday, May 28, 2018 at the United Astrology Conference (UAC 2018) in Chicago, IL.  It is the largest and most important of the international astrology conferences and occurs every 4 to 6 years.

The Vedic Dasha systems (planetary periods) are among the marvels of Vedic astrology. But to  discern how effective the dasha will be, we need to see and understand each planet in the chart, what they signify and how they are configured with each other, especially through yogas and aspects, both in the birth chart and the Navamsha (9th harmonic) chart. Those in turn will be triggered by the Dashas and transits. The Vimshottari dasha system is used here, analyzed against a backdrop of the larger historical trends.

If you want to deepen your knowledge of the Vimshottari Dasha system, there is a second lecture on this topic at this web store. The previous one, given at UAC 2002, Orlando, FL, covers an entirely different set of charts and life issues, with one exception – the chart of J. Pierpont Morgan, b. 1837, one of the richest Americans in the nation’s history. His chart becomes especially important to study for the relatively large number of exalted planets it contains.  For the 2002 lecture, see Vimshottari Dasha System: King of Vedic Planetary Periods.
